BELGRADE - In 2025, Serbia registered a 271.4 bln dinar budget deficit, which accounted for 2.6 pct of the estimated GDP.
The amount is 42.6 bln dinars better than a planned 314 bln deficit.
Revenues totalled 2,278.4 bln dinars, while expenditures stood at 2,549.8 bln dinars.
According to figures released by the Ministry of Finance, a 191.8 bln dinar deficit was registered in December alone.
December revenues totalled 221.7 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 413.5 bln dinars.
Tax revenues amounted to 192.9 bln dinars and were mostly comprised of VAT (101.5 bln) and excise duties (41.8 bln).
Non-tax revenues amounted to 27.1 bln dinars and donations stood at 1.6 bln dinars.
In December, capital investments amounted to 179.3 bln, expenditures for employees totalled 52.2 bln dinars, transfers to the pension and disability insurance fund, the national health insurance fund, the military social insurance fund and the national employment service totalled 27.7 bln dinars, with subsidies at 50.4 bln dinars, capital expenditures at 60.8 bln, repayment of interest at 26.2 bln and social protection expenditures at 19.7 bln and expenditures for use of goods and services at 29.5 bln dinars.
At general government level, a 252.8 bln dinar fiscal deficit and a 78.8 bln dinar primary fiscal deficit were registered in 2025, the ministry said.
