BELGRADE - Serbia registered a 3 bln dinar budget deficit between January and February 2023, the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday.
Revenues totalled 280.7 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 283.8 bln dinars.
A 9.1 bln dinar deficit was registered in February, the ministry said in a statement.
February revenues amounted to 130.4 bln dinars, with tax revenues totalling 102.7 bln dinars.
VAT and excise duties made up most of the tax revenues, totalling 57 bln dinars and 19 bln dinars, respectively, while non-tax revenues amounted to 9.8 bln dinars and donations stood at 17.9 bln dinars.
Expenditures totalled 139.6 bln dinars.
Expenditures for employees totalled 33.4 bln dinars, interest payments amounted to 17 bln, transfers to the pension and disability insurance fund, the national health insurance fund, the military social insurance fund and the national employment service totalled 18.4 bln dinars, with capital expenditures amounting to 25 bln dinars.
At general government level, a 2.7 bln dinar fiscal deficit and a 37.3 bln dinar primary fiscal surplus were registered in the first two months of 2023, the ministry also said.
