BELGRADE - The 47th International Tourism Fair opened in Belgrade on Thursday.
At the opening of the event, held at the Belgrade Fair, Serbian PM Djuro Macut said EXPO 2027 Belgrade would be a great moment for Serbia and a major opportunity for development of Serbian tourism and the national hospitality industry.
EXPO 2027 will also improve Serbia's international visibility, Macut said.
During the expo, all parts of Serbia will have an opportunity to showcase their natural beauties, and the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government will have the biggest role to play in that task, Macut said.
Cypriot Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis said he was pleased Cyprus was the partner country at this year's fair and added that the cooperation would advance the already good relations between Serbia and Cyprus.
He noted that the number of Serbian tourists visiting Cyprus had grown significantly.
Koumis said the fair was very important and a platform for exchanging ideas, advancing cooperation and promoting the tourism sector.
Held under the slogan of One Journey, A Thousand Stories, the February 19-22 fair will feature more than 350 exhibitors from 18 countries.
