CAIRO - Serbian PM Djuro Macut, who is on a working visit to Egypt, met on Monday in Cairo with Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh to discuss concrete steps for advancement of economic and development cooperation between the two countries, with particular focus on medical tourism, the pharmaceuticals industry and education.
"The interlocutors assessed that there is significant potential for connecting institutions, companies and experts from Serbia and Egypt, as well as for the implementation of joint projects that would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations," the Serbian government said in a statement.
"Macut emphasised that Serbia is committed to deepening cooperation with Egypt and creating new opportunities for economic, scientific and educational exchange between the two friendly countries," it also said.
Saleh noted the significance of setting up a joint Serbia-Egypt ministerial commission that would coordinate preparations for participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade and make it possible to define in a timely manner, and sign, agreements on cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
