BELGRADE - Opening up new markets to Serbian companies, regional economic ties, support to innovation and dual education as well as a new dynamic in the EU accession process are the priorities for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS), PKS President Marko Cadez said on Tuesday.

Speaking to Pink TV, Cadez noted that the PKS and the Council of Saudi Chambers would in the next two weeks set up a business council comprised of Saudi and Serbian businesspeople to launch joint projects.

"Saudi Arabia, as a major market of 33 mln consumers, wants our products. Saudi Arabia has expressed a desire to invest in boosting the livestock fund in Serbia and in existing domestic companies. Today, a delegation from that country will have meetings with representatives of PKS associations for sectors including the manufacturing industry, agriculture and the IT and construction industries and infrastructure," Cadez said.

He noted that cooperation with Saudi Arabia was also important for the Serbian IT sector given Saudi Arabia's strategic goal to become one of the world's most digitalised countries by 2030, as well as for the Serbian agriculture sector, with Serbian companies to exhibit at the Saudi Food Show in June, the PKS said in a statement.

Cadez said a common labour market of Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia was set to be launched on July 1 and would benefit companies from the Open Balkan member states and their economies.

"It is very important that we cooperate in the region but also talk very actively with the EU about getting access to the single European market as soon as possible," Cadez said.
