BELGRADE- Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic said on Thursday the company was already offering its projects to the world through a project for the diaspora and a fund for financing digital startups.
"The diaspora will make it possible for us to perhaps double the 11 mln subscribers we have. We will try to establish partnerships with the biggest companies - Amazon, Netflix, Facebook," Lucic told the RTS, noting that Telekom Srbija was seeking to become a global player in the telecommunications industry.
"The project for the diaspora got underway intensively four years ago through the launch of a mobile operator in Austria," he said, noting that the operator now had 150,000 subscribers.
"We have realised that the diaspora holds enormous potential because we also have both the content and the digital services they want to have. Besides Austria, we also expanded our operations to Switzerland last year and we are now finishing Germany," he said, adding that expansions to Turkey and the US were the next step.
Telekom Srbija is already the majority or full owner of ten telecommunications companies in Serbia, Republika Srpska, Montenegro and North Macedonia, Lucic said.
