BELGRADE - The Serbian government has adopted a Road Map for Support to the Energy Sector, creating the conditions to sign with the European Commission a financial agreement on IPA 2023 that will secure 165 mln euros of budget support to the sector, the Ministry of Mining and Energy said in a statement on Friday.
The document, which will further strengthen the country's response to the energy crisis, has been adopted at the ministry's proposal, the statement said.
"The road map focuses on the immediate needs in order to provide support to the most endangered households and SMEs in these crisis times, as well as to continue on the path of energy transition," said Minister Dubravka Djedovic.
She once again thanked the EU for recognising the significance of providing support to Serbia amid a global energy crisis and for setting aside significant funds for the purpose.
She said the adoption of the road map was extremely important for further advancement of energy stability in Serbia.
The document was coordinated through public consultations with all interested parties, public institutions, civil society organisations, the European Commission and international financial institutions.
