BELGRADE - At a session chaired by Serbian PM Ana Brnabic, a council tasked with coordinating activities and measures aimed at promoting GDP growth said on Monday there had been visible signs of stabilisation and economic recovery in Q3, that inflation was declining and that planned GDP growth of 2.5 pct could be expected to materalise in 2023 despite a major economic slowdown in Europe.
Brnabic said that, in view of global developments, next year would bring even more challenges and that it was important to work with commitment on carrying out projects to ensure economic growth in Serbia, an official statement said.
The council said overall industrial production and the manufacturing industry had registered growth in August and that the situation in the retail trade sector was good, with rising demand and declining inflation.
It also said food prices had been stabilised and that the Better Price campaign had produced results in that regard.
Brnabic said the good impetus from Q3 should be utilised in the next quarter and especially highlighted the construction and agriculture sectors.
Government ministers informed Brnabic of the situation in their respective sectors and noted all projects, including in the construction, ecology, agriculture, trade and infrastructure sectors, were progressing as planned.
