NBS FX reserves at 19.415 bln euros at end-December

BELGRADE - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) gross FX reserves amounted to 19,415.7 mln euros at end-December 2022, which includes a 985.6 mln euro first tranche under a stand-by arrangement with the IMF, approved to Serbia on December 19.

"The funds can be used to directly finance the budget, refinance Serbia’s obligations and/or finance current budgetary needs after the adoption of the relevant law," the NBS said in a statement.

"This was the record high level (since 2000) of end-of-month and end-of-year gross FX reserves. FX reserves increased by 2,148.4 mln euros in December and by 2,961.2 mln euros in 2022," it said.
