Serbia's January-March external trade at 16.3 bln euros

BELGRADE - Serbia's external goods trade in January-March totalled 16.3 bln euros, which is a 2.6 pct decrease y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Goods exports were worth 7.179 bln euros, dropping by 1.6 pct y-o-y, while imports totalled 9.126 bln euros, declining by 3.3 pct y-o-y.

The deficit was 1.946 bln euros, down by 9.1 pct y-o-y.

The export-import ratio was 78.7 pct, up from 77.3 pct in the same period of last year.

The Vojvodina region had the largest share of exports (34.4 pct) and the Belgrade region had the largest share of imports (42.9 pct).

External goods trade was the highest with countries with which Serbia has free trade agreements and EU member states accounted for 61 pct of the total.

Serbia's main export partners were Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, China and Hungary and its main import partners were Germany, China, Italy, Hungary and Russia.
