Borrell to host working lunch for W Balkan leaders in New York Wednesday

BRUSSELS - EU foreign policy and security chief Josep Borrell will host a working lunch for Western Balkan leaders in New York on Wednesday, the European Commission announced on Friday.

In a statement outlining next week's activities of EU officials during the 79th UN General Assembly session, the EC said Borrell would "host the six leaders from the Western Balkans for a traditional working lunch."

It also said the UNGA session in New York would be attended by a high-level EU delegation including Borrell and EC President Ursula von der Leyen.

"The focus of EU engagement will be to tackle the unprecedented set of conflicts and crises across the world," it said.

Von der Leyen hosted a working lunch for Western Balkan leaders in Brussels on Thursday.
