Vucic: I thanked Cyprus for supporting Serbia's integrity, sovereignty

NEW YORK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides in New York on Monday.

"A cordial meeting with Nikos Christodoulides. We exchanged views on the current geopolitical situation and the importance of the UN as well as on the contribution all member states can make to finding solutions to future challenges. I thanked Cyprus for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, noting that our country, by respecting the UN Charter and international public law, is giving full support to the sovereignty of Cyprus," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.

He said he had also addressed the complex situation in the Serbian autonomous province of Kosovo-Metohija and thanked Cyprus for its unequivocal support for Serbia on the EU path.

"We agreed that the 79th UNGA session is an excellent opportunity for world leaders to meet to discuss the global problems we all face. I took the opportunity to invite President Christodoulides to visit Serbia, which would be an enormous honour for us and lend a new impetus to our overall relations," Vucic added.
