Vucic, Koopman discuss accelerating Serbia's EU path

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Monday with Gert Jan Koopman, director general of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

"A good and substantially important discussion with the director general of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations about accelerating Serbia's EU path," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.

During the meeting, Vucic noted that Serbia's goal was to complete reform processes and alignment with EU legislation by 2027.

"Also, I expressed the expectation the EU and member states will acknowledge the efforts and progress our country is making and that, at an accelerated pace, we will head towards achieving the common objective - Serbia's EU membership," Vucic wrote in the post, which also included a photo of him with Koopman.
