BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met with the German and Finnish ambassadors to Belgrade, Anke Konrad and Niklas Lindqvist, on Wednesday to discuss plans for joint activities by the German and Finnish embassies as NATO contact embassies for the Republic of Serbia in the next two years.

Gasic pointed out Serbia's openness to further cooperation and dialogue with NATO at all levels, primarily with a view to preserving the security of the Serb population in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija as well as to contributing to preservation of peace at regional and global level.

He conveyed the full dedication and firm commitment of Serbia as a dependable and predictable partner to continue the cooperation in areas of mutual interest under the Partnership for Peace programme as an optimal framework for achieving security objectives in keeping with the policy of military neutrality, the Serbian MoD said in a statement.

The ambassadors expressed a desire to help to advance the existing cooperation between NATO and Serbia, with involvement from MoD and Serbian Armed Forces representatives as well as the academic and scientific community and other civil society representatives.
