BELGRADE - Serbia's caretaker PM Milos Vucevic met with the co-chair of the European Parliament's EU-Serbia stabilisation and association committee, Loucas Fourlas, on Tuesday to discuss reform processes and Serbia's progress on the EU path.
Vucevic noted that the EU remained Serbia's strategic commitment, and confirmed a readiness to continue efforts to advance reform processes that were in line with EU values and standards.
He said Serbia and Fourlas's home country of Cyprus had identical positions on respect of international law, and thanked Cyprus for its continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, as well as for its backing in the EU accession process.
Fourlas noted that the EU was not complete without Serbia and the Western Balkan region and that substantial progress had been made in the accession process, as well as that work on reforms and alignment with EU standards must be continued.
He said that, over the course of his five-year tenure, he would be trying to get Serbia closer to the EU and added that Cyprus was ready to provide all the necessary technical support in Serbia's reform processes to help the country achieve the objectives of advancement of the rule-of-law state, human rights, economic growth and regional stability.
