Vucic: Good meeting with Kos, we openly discussed all problems

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday evening he had had a good meeting with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and that they had openly discussed all problems, as well as Serbia's strategic commitment.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the Tirsova 2 clinic in Belgrade, Vucic said they had also discussed what needed to be done in the future, as well as the geopolitical situation.

"I informed her of my trips to the US and the Russian Federation. Of course, in Europe they do not view the trip to Moscow with sympathy, but I speak about that openly with everyone," Vucic said.

He added that Kos was pleased with her meeting with Serbia's new PM Djuro Macut and happy with the substance of discussions with Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and FM Marko Djuric.

"A very good meeting, if I may say so, one that is useful for Serbia," Vucic concluded.

In an Instagram post after the meeting, Vucic wrote that he believed that, through serious work, responsibility and a sincere partnership with the EU, Serbia would seize an existing momentum and open a new stage in its EU integration.

"A good discussion with European Commissioner Marta Kos about key challenges and opportunities on our European path, with special focus on reforms and implementation of the European Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. I emphasised our full readiness to accelerate reforms, not for the sake of bureaucratic demands, but because we believe they bring better life to our citizens," Vucic added.
