BELGRADE - MPs of Serbia's ruling coalition met with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in the parliament on Wednesday.
Serbia Must Not Stop whip Milenko Jovanov said EU membership was a strategic commitment of all members of the governing coalition, an official statement said.
Jovanov said the parliament would continue to work intensively on carrying out reforms and aligning national legislation with that of the EU.
Jovanov also said the EU was incomplete without the Western Balkans, especially amid the existing geopolitical circumstances in Europe and globally.
Kos said the EU remained committed to enlargement, and described as encouraging a confirmation by Serbia's political leaders that reform processes towards accomplishing the goal of completing the country's EU accession talks by the end of 2026 continued.
She noted that the EU's Western Balkans Growth Plan was an important instrument that could help stabilise the process.
The MPs informed Kos of the current political and social situation in Serbia, as well as of further work on advancement of electoral conditions and fulfilment of ODIHR recommendations.
The MPs also touched upon the daily pressure and the grave situation faced by Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, and said Pristina had still not met its commitment to establish a Community of Serb Municipalities, the statement also said.
