BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Japanese Ambassador to Belgrade Akira Imamura on Friday to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and partnerships in joint projects.

Macut noted that Serbia and Japan had much space to continue to develop overall relations, and especially highlighted application of IT and artificial intelligence in medicine.

He noted that Japan was an extremely important partner and that, with its support, Serbia would become stronger.

He said Japanese investments in the automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and IT sectors, as well as investments in environmental protection and culture, were especially important for Serbia.

Imamura said his country was striving to cherish good relations with Serbia and support the country's stability and prosperity.

He said Belgrade was key to regional stability and that continued good cooperation was thus extremely important for Tokyo.

Conveying the Japanese PM's congratulations to Macut on his appointment as PM, Imamura also presented to him a letter stating unreserved support for Serbia.
