BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Wednesday he had had "an inspiring and meaningful" conversation with prominent Arizona, US-based philanthropist Elaine Beck about the enduring significance of the rich Serbian cultural and Orthodox Christian heritage in Kosovo-Metohija.

"Regrettably, over the past decades, we have been witnessing the continued endangerment of these unique spiritual and historical landmarks — a reality underscored by the fact that the UNESCO World Heritage Committee placed three Serbian Orthodox monasteries — the Patriarchate of Pec, the Decani Monastery and Gracanica — as well as the Church of the Holy Virgin of Ljevis, on its list of world heritage in danger," Djuric posted on X.

"Raising global awareness about the urgency of preserving these sacred sites — treasures not only of Serbian heritage but of universal human value — is of vital importance. Their protection is a shared responsibility and a moral imperative for all who cherish civilisation and peace," he concluded.

Elaine Beck is known for her selfless support for communities through donations, humanitarian work and advocacy of Christian values.
