BELGRADE - In a phone call with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted Serbia's determination to continue reform processes aimed at ensuring a better life to all citizens and achieving full EU membership status.
Von der Leyen noted that Serbia's future was in the EU, and called for taking further important steps on that path.
A statement published on the buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account said Vucic and von der Leyen had exchanged views on the current situation in the region, the continuation of Serbia's European integration path, the necessary reforms and the course of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
Vucic thanked the European Commission for assisting and supporting development and modernisation of Serbia's energy and transport infrastructure, and expressed gratitude to von der Leyen for her personal commitment to Serbia's European path.
Vucic informed von der Leyen of the state of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and noted that Serbia remained committed to EU-facilitated discussions and to finding a compromise solution for normalisation of relations, but with clearly stated restrictions, all with the aim of preserving peace and stability and expanding cooperation in the region.
