PRAGUE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday he had had important discussions at the GLOBSEC 2025 forum in Prague and that his main message had been that Serbia would continue to work hard, to develop and to attract investors.
"That is our main task, and I believe we will succeed in that in the future as well," Vucic told Serbian reporters in Prague.
He noted that he had spoken with Czech President Petr Pavel and invited him to Belgrade.
"We have succeeded in raising the level of trade with Czechia to more than 2 bln (euros), more and more Czech companies are involved in Serbia's progress. PPF is one of the largest companies and it is constantly investing, and there are also many other manufacturing companies, companies associated with cargo transport - by road and rail. I believe we can advance the cooperation with Czechia further at an accelerated pace," Vucic said.
He said around 25 prominent politicians and economists, including former US ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, were attending the June 12-14 summit, and that he had also listened to what high representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt had to say about the situation in that country.
"Of course, our views differed from that. At a panel, we heard a clear position of support for Serbia from (Slovak official Miroslav) Lajcak and (Austrian FM Alexander) Schallenberg. I also spoke with (former Austrian chancellor) Sebastian Kurz," Vucic said.
