Brnabic, OSCE's Braathu discuss Serbian media reforms

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Braathu, on Monday to discuss current media reforms, the election of the Council of the Regulatory Authority on Electronic Media, as well as the recent passage of media laws in the Serbian parliament.

Brnabic reiterated the confidence the media laws, fully backed by the European Commission, would help enhance the Serbian media scene further, and noted that, following the passage of the laws, it would be important to monitor their implementation, an official statement said.

Brnabic also said she had always had excellent cooperation with Braathu and thanked him again for all the assistance and support provided to Serbia during his tenure as the OSCE mission chief in the country.
