BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut received Spanish Ambassador to Belgrade Juan Jose Sanz Aparicio on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and deepening the cooperation at all levels, above all, in the economy.
According to a statement released by his office, Macut said Serbia-Spain relations were marked by sincere friendship and based on mutual respect and understanding.
Macut noted that bilateral political relations were on a high level thanks to the intensity of political dialogue and mutual support regarding important national interests.
He said he expected economic cooperation to be stepped up in the coming period thanks to the good political and strategic ties between Spain and Serbia.
Macut thanked Spain for its principled position of not recognising the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, as well as for its active support in safeguarding Serbia's state and national interests.
The ambassador reiterated Spain's support for Serbia's EU integration process and said that there was potential for increasing the bilateral trade volume.
