BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic received a delegation of French parliamentary rapporteurs for Kosovo-Metohija on Tuesday.
The rapporteurs have been appointed by the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs to help to normalise Belgrade-Pristina relations.
Brnabic thanked them for the visit and for an opportunity to exchange views on issues of importance for regional stability and for Serbia's European future, an official statement said.
She highlighted the significance of the opportunity to present the reality of the everyday life of Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as the numerous security challenges, physical pressure and other forms of systemic coercion they face.
She thanked the French MPs and their country for continued support for safeguarding the rights of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and for a consistent insistence on urgent establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities in line with existing agreements.
Brnabic noted that EU membership was a strategic priority of Serbia's foreign policy, and thanked France for its readiness to provide support in the process of aligning Serbia's legal and institutional framework with EU standards.
