Gasic meets with Azerbaijan's ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgrade Kamil Khasiyev on Tuesday.

The parties agreed bilateral defence cooperation was highly developed and intensive and had a strong potential to advance further.

They noted that excellent relations between Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Ilham Aliyev contributed to further strengthening of the cooperation between the two friendly countries, without any outstanding issues, and that they represented a firm foundation for overall Serbia-Azerbaijan relations.

They agreed that general relations between the two countries were very good, with a tendency to improve further, and noted that Azerbaijan was one of Serbia's strategic partners.

Gasic said Serbia was extremely grateful to Azerbaijan for its principled and unreserved support for the territorial integrity of Serbia in numerous international organisations in terms of Serbia's southern province of Kosovo-Metohija.

Gasic and Khasiyev also discussed the upcoming Partner 2025 arms and military equipment fair in Belgrade, and the minister expressed the hope Azerbaijani delegations would attend the event.

Khasiyev highlighted the significance of Azerbaijani investments in Serbia and noted that good business relations would support and strengthen cooperation in all areas, especially the defence sector.
