Brnabic: This is not good time for elections

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Monday this was not a good time for elections for Serbia and its citizens as the country needed to develop.

"It would not be good for our people. Why would we go to elections now, amid all the things that are happening in Europe and worldwide, all the wars, armed conflicts and trade wars?" Brnabic said on K1 TV.

"That would mean that we, as politicians, exist only for the sake of ourselves and our parties," she added in a comment on President Aleksandar Vucic's statement that elections would be held when they suited the country, rather than any political party.

She added that calling elections would be good for the ruling Serbian Progressive Party as it would "win even more convincingly," but that the move would be irresponsible.
