KNJAZEVAC - Safeguarding the unity of the people as well as the constitutional order at all costs is, and will remain, the programme of the present Serbian government, PM Djuro Macut said in Knjazevac, eastern Serbia, on Friday.
"That is a path we will not steer away from. My hand will be outstretched to all who sincerely mean well to this country, and for only as long as there is even the slightest glimmer of hope that we can do something good for our homeland together," Macut said in a presentation of the results of his cabinet's one hundred days in office.
"What gives special significance to today's (government) session is the fact that it is being held right here - in Knjazevac, a place deeply rooted in the history of Serbian statehood and fight for freedom. With this act, we confirm our commitment to a policy of bringing institutions closer to the citizens and to respect for the role every part of Serbia has in building our common future," Macut said.
Speaking about the government's foreign policy, Macut said:
"As long as I am PM, we will not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation."
