Pristina's inspectors close Sluzbeni glasnik offices in K Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Pristina's inspectors from the North Mitrovica municipality on Tuesday closed the offices of Sluzbeni glasnik (Official Gazette), the company supplying textbooks to pupils in the Serbian education system in Kosovo-Metohija.

The inspectors told Sluzbeni glasnik employees the offices were municipal property and that the company did not have a licence to operate.

According to eyewitness accounts, they said the company must refer to the North Mitrovica municipality to reach an agreement that would allow it to continue to operate in the offices.

They also said the company must register with the Pristina system and pay rent for the offices.

Pristina's provisional authorities have closed numerous Serbian institutions in Kosovo-Metohija, further aggravating the position of Serbs in the province.
