BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday he had informed the Quint states and the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Peter Sorensen, of Pristina's police raid of the Kosovska Mitrovica clinical hospital and health centre on Thursday night.
"Under all agreements that are in place, health care and education in Kosovo-Metohija are a part of the Serbian system, in spite of desperate attempts by the Pristina dictator (PM Albin Kurti), who is losing power," Petkovic posted on X.
Immediately after the raid, Srpska lista contacted the embassies of all Quint states, the EU Mission, UNMIK, the OSCE and KFOR, requesting urgent deployment of KFOR and EULEX personnel in the immediate vicinity of health care and educational institutions to prevent such raids in the future, Tanjug learns.
In a statement, Kurti said "dualism of the health care and education systems" was "not sustainable" and that they needed to be "incorporated and unified."
In response, Srpska lista said threats of integration of health care and education into Pristina's system were not a part of any agreements or negotiations.
"They are pillars of the survival of the Serbs, and will remain so. All international agreements say clearly that they are separate systems," the Serb party said.
