Antigua and Barbuda confirms its participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade

BELGRADE - Antigua and Barbuda has officially confirmed its participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade, becoming one of 120 countries to be showcased at the event, the first international expo of its kind in the Western Balkans.

Diplomatic relations between Serbia and the Caribbean state, established in 2018, have been seeing an upward trajectory following an exchange of visits at foreign minister level, the EXPO 2027 enterprise said in a statement.

EXPO 2027 CEO Danilo Jerinic said that, in spite of the geographic distance between them, Serbia and Antigua and Barbuda shared the same vision that the world could unite around universal values connecting all peoples and all countries.

"There can be no Play for Humanity without the warmth and brightness of the spirit of the Caribbean, and that is why we are immeasurably pleased to be able to, as good hosts, welcome Antigua and Barbuda, which we believe will prepare an original programme," Jerinic said.

EXPO 2027, to be held from May 15 through August 15 2027 under the theme of Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All, is expected to draw more than four million visitors.
