NEW YORK - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu on Monday on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly session in New York.
Djuric said Serbia saw the OSCE as the most significant security platform for substantial and constructive dialogue, and conveyed to Sinirlioglu that, in the current geopolitical situation, Serbia stood ready to contribute to revitalising it, with full preservation of the principle of consensus, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
He thanked the OSCE for supporting reform processes in Serbia, noting that Serbia maintained good cooperation with OSCE institutions, especially with the organisation's two missions in Serbian territory - OMIS and OMIK.
Djuric highlighted the necessity of maintaining a comprehensive status-neutral OSCE approach to Kosovo-Metohija and voiced serious concerns over the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija as a result of systematic and continued violations of the Serbs' rights.
He reiterated that Serbia expected the international community to react to urgently ensure all rights and full security to the Serbs to prevent their expulsion from Kosovo-Metohija.
Djuric again stressed that Serbia was an advocate of a "positive agenda" and preservation of peace and stability in the region, and noted that advancement of good-neighbourly and mutually beneficial cooperation was a fundamental and unchangeable starting point of Serbia's overall foreign policy.
