BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met with Eswatini's Principal Secretary of Defence, Prince Sicalo Nkopolo Dlamini, in Belgrade on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and defence cooperation between Serbia and Eswatini.

"Minister Gasic welcomed the attendance of the Kingdom of Eswatini’s delegation at the International Armament and Military Equipment Exhibition Partner 2025, and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to discuss defence cooperation and ways to further strengthen overall bilateral relations between the two countries.

He emphasised that bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Eswatini are traditionally good, as evidenced by the recent visit of King Mswati III.

The Minister of Defence emphasised that Eswatini’s presence at the Partner 2025 defence exhibition would be of great value, as the event is an opportunity for the Serbian Defence Industry to showcase its technological and production capabilities, as well as a chance to establish and maintain both regional and global business ties.

During the meeting, Minister Gasic expressed his gratitude for Eswatini’s support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, particularly in light of Eswatini’s decision to withdraw its recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

During the meeting, the Serbian side reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening defence cooperation in areas of mutual interest," the Serbian MoD said in a statement.

The prince emphasised "the importance of his delegation’s presence at the Partner 2025 defence exhibition and expressed his appreciation for today’s meeting and the chance to discuss opportunities for defence cooperation, highlighting that such collaboration would help further strengthen the overall bilateral relationship between the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Eswatini," the statement also said.
