BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the credentials of new French Ambassador to Belgrade Florence Ferrari on Wednesday and said he believed Serbia and France would continue their successful and constructive cooperation to further advance the comprehensive bilateral ties.

In a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile, Vucic wrote that he had been proud to note at the meeting that Serbia-France bilateral relations were excellent and that political dialogue had been intensified.

He added that a strategic partnership on which the two countries were working diligently and with commitment was a natural progression of the tradition of the 186-year-long bilateral relations between Serbia and France.

"The friendly relationship and understanding I have with President Emmanuel Macron give additional strength and stability to our cooperation and create space for new joint strategic projects. We are encouraged by the fact that economic cooperation has been expanded to include implementing priority projects in Serbia, especially when it comes to capital infrastructure projects," Vucic said.

He said the economic cooperation with France was also expanding to new areas such as development of advanced technologies, clean energy sources, critical and strategic raw materials, military technology, agriculture and the food industry.

Vucic thanked France for confirming its participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade and said it would deepen cooperation and joint activities by businesses from the two countries.

"In the discussion, I noted that EU membership is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia's foreign policy, and thanked France for the support it is providing to our country's European perspective," Vucic added.

Earlier, Vucic also received the credentials of the new ambassadors of Egypt, Ireland, Brazil, Iran and Pakistan.
