BELGRADE Serbian PM Djuro Macut received new French Ambassador to Belgrade Florence Ferrari on Friday to discuss further development of bilateral relations, especially in the economy, education, culture and green transition, as well as opportunities for deepening the historical friendship between Serbia and France.
"During the Ambassador’s first visit, the Prime Minister particularly emphasised the importance of French investments in Serbia, as well as cooperation in the areas of infrastructure and energy.
He expressed gratitude to France for the support it provides to Serbia on its path to full membership in the European Union and reiterated that the government remains firmly committed to implementing the necessary reforms," the Serbian government said in a statement.
"We recognise France, as one of the founders and most influential members of the EU, as a very important partner whose support would greatly assist us in accelerating the pace of the negotiations," Macut noted.
Ferrari said that, like her predecessor, she would strive to contribute to further development of friendly relations and that Belgrade was a key partner to Paris in the Western Balkan region.
The parties agreed that political dialogue and cooperation in numerous sectors remained high on the common agenda, noting that it was necessary to continue to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
