Macut, UAE delegation discuss further strengthening of strategic relations, cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with a UAE delegation on Tuesday to discuss further strengthening of Serbia-UAE strategic relations, as well as advancement of services important for Serbian citizens.

The parties discussed further development of cooperation in the fields of digital governance, artificial intelligence, government accelerators and innovation in public services, as well as new forms of partnerships in line with a Serbia-UAE agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Macut thanked the delegation, headed by the director general of UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority Naser Lootah, for the sincere and firm friendship and support for Serbia on the path of further development, especially in digital infrastructure.

He noted that Tuesday's opening of an eGovernment service centre at Belgrade's Galerija shopping mall - for which the UAE government has donated equipment and provided financial support - represented another proof of exceptional bilateral relations between Serbia and the UAE, mutual trust and a dependable partnership in digital transformation and technological development.

Macut said the opening of the centre as an innovative model of communication between the government and the citizens was another step towards creating a modern and efficient public administration that was oriented towards the citizens and adapting its services to the needs and the way of life of every individual.

"That is the essence of the policy pursued by the Government of the Republic of Serbia - being with the citizens always and everywhere, making their everyday life easier and improving their quality of life to a great extent," Macut noted.
