Vucic meets with von Beckerath

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Andreas von Beckerath on Friday to discuss Serbia's EU path and implementation of the reform agenda, and noted that European integration and EU membership remained Serbia's strategic goal.

"A good discussion with Ambassador Andreas von Beckerath about Serbia's European path and implementation of the reform agenda," Vucic posted on Instagram after the meeting with von Beckerath.

He noted that European integration and EU membership remained Serbia's strategic goal as that was not only a geopolitical orientation, but a path to even faster development of the country and better life for its citizens.

"I noted our commitment to further implementation of reforms that are substantial for Serbia's progress, including rule of law reforms, strengthening of democratic institutions and advancement of transparency," Vucic said.

He added that Serbia remained a responsible and dependable partner of the EU and committed to peace, stability and prosperity on the European continent, as well as to common European values, such as rule of law, solidarity and freedom.
