BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday evening Serbian authorities were trying to hunt down two snipers who had come to Belgrade according to intelligence information.
"We are currently chasing two snipers in Belgrade, and we know they are in the city. We have been unable to find them for three days now. I hope we will succeed, we will see who the targets are and in what way. Therefore, we know they have arrived, and we know where the money has come from. I believe the competent services will succeed in resolving that," Vucic said on a Prva TV talk show.
He said the blockaders were in a hurry and very nervous after a November 1 "debacle" in Novi Sad.
"In the past days and weeks, we had different security and intelligence information that is not naive. We have not even informed the public. We did not want to talk about that because, whatever you say, they would say the authorities are trying to scare the people, especially ahead of November 1, and so on," Vucic said, adding that he would never accept the use of force, violence or external influences aimed at any change of government.
"They cannot defeat me in elections, and they know that very well, whenever they (elections) may be held," he noted.
