BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with Italian Minister for Parliamentary Relations Luca Ciriani in Belgrade on Thursday, thanking Italy for its continued backing for Serbia's EU path and for its strong support for opening Cluster 3 (Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth) in Serbia's EU accession talks.
The parties noted that bilateral parliamentary cooperation was developing successfully through regular contacts and an exchange of visits at all levels, contributing to strengthening of mutual understanding and trust, an official statement said.
They highlighted a high level of economic cooperation, with Italy as one of Serbia's most important economic partners for many years now, and said EXPO 2027 represented a major opportunity to advance economic relations further and promote investments.
Brnabic and Ciriani agreed that Serbia and Italy maintained traditionally good and friendly relations based on a strategic partnership and strong political, economic and parliamentary ties.
