BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali on Monday to coordinate financial and operational mechanisms that will make it possible to keep the current energy situation under control, and noted that intensive work would be underway with all partners in the coming days to ensure additional supply channels.

Macut said that, following Sunday's government session, coordination among all relevant authorities had continued from the morning hours.

"I am aware that this decision of the United States of America can affect energy supply and that is why we will work intensively with all our partners in the coming days to secure additional supply channels and safeguard the security of citizens and the economy," Macut said in a government statement.

He added that storage capacities were full and reserves at their maximum and that there was no reason for concern.

"I would like to call on all citizens to be patient and understanding. Serbia has the strength, the resources and reliable partners to overcome this challenge, and the interests of our citizens and the security of supply remain our absolute priority," he said.
