Vasiljevic, Austria's Ruf discuss cooperation in fight against crime

BELGRADE - Serbian Police Director Dragan Vasiljevic met with the public security director of the Austrian Federal Police Franz Ruf on Tuesday in Belgrade to discuss current security challenges and advancement of the very good and open cooperation in the fight against all forms of crime.

Both parties highlighted the significance of a partnership between police services, reflected in successful operational cooperation and joint participation in regional initiatives, the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

They agreed there was additional space for advancement of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Special emphasis was placed on sharing experiences and good practices, as well as on further strengthening of cooperation between special police units, which will contribute to a more efficient response to the most complex security challenges, the ministry said in a statement.

Vasiljevic and Ruf confirmed a full commitment to continuing and deepening the cooperation towards bolstering security in the region and Europe.
