KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Srpska lista leader Zlatan Elek said on Wednesday the Kosovo-Metohija Serb party had filed a complaint with a complaints and submissions panel against a decision by Pristina's central electoral commission not to certify it for the December 28 elections for the provincial assembly.
At a press conference in Kosovska Mitrovica, Elek said the decision was "illegal, illegitimate and anti-Serb" and that the party expected it to be annulled.
"Is that democracy, is that justice?" Elek asked, referring to the decision.
"If there was democracy and justice, Srpska lista would have 10 secure seats, it would have a minister and a deputy speaker," Elek said, noting that he was speaking on behalf of all Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
The decision not to certify Srpska lista for the elections was made on November 28.
Previously, ahead of the February 9 elections for the provincial assembly as well as the October 12 local polls, the commission initially refused to certify Srpska lista, but reverted the decisions following the party's complaints to the panel and the Pristina supreme court, which both upheld the complaints and ordered the commission to approve Srpska lista registration applications.
