BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with GLOBSEC founder and President Robert Vass in Belgrade on Tuesday to discuss key security, geopolitical and economic challenges facing the region.

"We exchanged views on the need to bolster the resilience of states in central and southeastern Europe, connectivity and integration as part of the European market economy, as well as the importance of dialogue and partnership in a time of global turmoil," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.

He noted that Serbia remained committed to preserving stability, peace and economic development through responsible policies aimed at strengthening institutions and energy security, as well as at attracting further investments.

Vucic added that Serbia recognised GLOBSEC as an important platform for promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas and that it valued the organisation's contribution to strengthening understanding and security in Europe.

"I am pleased Belgrade is hosting this GLOBSEC Forum and proud of the tradition of dialogue and open opportunities our city is offering," Vucic added.

Vucic noted that he had accepted an invitation by GLOBSEC chiefs to take part in the organisation's next summit in Prague and expressed the confidence successful cooperation aimed at regional stability and progress and prosperity for all would be continued.
