BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Czech Ambassador to Belgrade Jan Bondy on Tuesday and noted that bilateral political dialogue needed to be intensified at all levels.
"Macut said that the Czech Republic is an important foreign policy partner of Serbia, adding that Serbia is therefore determined to strengthen friendly ties in the period ahead," a government statement said.
"He said there is significant room for improving bilateral cooperation in areas of importance to both countries, which, as he stated, will be defined through communication with the Government of the Czech Republic.
The Prime Minister said that energy and mining, transport and infrastructure, environmental protection and tourism are economic areas in which cooperation should be strengthened.
The meeting reviewed the current level of bilateral cooperation, with special emphasis on the continuous growth of economic exchange and trade in services.
Macut said that Serbia appreciates the Czech Republic’s support for Serbia’s European integration process so far, both bilaterally and together with other EU member states.
Ambassador Bondy emphasised that the two countries are connected by a long-standing friendship, closeness between the two peoples and cooperation in areas of mutual interest," it also said.
