BELGRADE -  Albin Kurti's actions have brought us to the brink of armed conflict, Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Friday and added that she believed Serbia had the right under UN SC Resolution 1244, as well as an intent, to redeploy a certain number of its troops to Kosovo-Metohija.

She noted that what Pristina's PM was doing was a threat not only to Serbs, but to ethnic Albanians and entire Europe as well.

"It is a 19th-century policy. I am extremely concerned... Kurti has brought all of us to the very brink of war," Brnabic said in a comment on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija following the latest incidents in the province.

"But he did not do it on his own. Our partners, including in the EU, ignore the situation completely and do not react, or react only when things become critical. You have KFOR and EULEX, which are not doing their job, not only under the Brussels Agreement but also under the Kumanovo Agreement. They are not protecting the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, either south of the Ibar River or in the north of Kosovo-Metohija," Brnabic said, adding that the agreements were being violated on a daily basis.

"I believe that, during the day, President Aleksandar Vucic will provide more information on his meetings about requesting a return of our forces to Kosovo-Metohija because KFOR is not doing its job and because Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija cannot feel safe," she said.

"Their lives, including the lives of children in kindergartens, are under threat there," Brnabic added, referring to Thursday's KFOR and ROSU raid in a kindergarten in the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

Brnabic noted that she believed that, under UN SC Resolution 1244, Serbia had the right to redeploy a certain number of its troops to Kosovo-Metohija, as well as an intent to do so.

If KFOR fails to ensure peace, Serbia wants to ensure peace and stability, she explained.
