LUCANI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday Serbia had serious multi-layered airspace defence, and announced that, with the aim of strengthening the Serbian Armed Forces further, he would have important meetings about new arms acquisitions as early as on Tuesday.
"It is very difficult to get into Serbian skies, we have very serious multi-layered defence and we continue to work on that - from electronic jamming to everything else. Tomorrow, I will have important meetings about acquisitions of something new," Vucic told reporters during a visit to the Kotraza village near Lucani, central Serbia.
"I just want people to feel secure - we are now protecting large zones, large cities, and we are not protecting only Belgrade and Novi Sad, but also Nis and Kragujevac, and we are also protecting the outskirts. So, we will continue to strengthen our army," he said.
Commenting on Croatia's reactions to Serbia's acquisition of Chinese-made hypersonic missiles, Vucic noted that Serbia had no intention of attacking Croatia.
"I hope and I am certain that we will preserve peace by having sufficient power and deterrents to ensure no one in the region attacks us," he said, adding that there would be no repeat of 1999 - the year of the NATO aggression on Serbia - because he was too responsible and too serious to allow that to happen again.
Vucic: All fuel storage tanks filled to capacity
SEVOJNO - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday all fuel tanks and storage capacities in Serbia were full and that the country had three months' worth of fuel reserves.
However, Vucic noted that the crude oil price was at its peak, at around 104 dollars per barrel.
"If it goes above 110 or 120 dollars, I do not know what we should do, to be honest with you. The only thing we could do is say that we will be distributing oil from reserves at the lowest prices, but who will guarantee to us that the war will end in two months?" Vucic told reporters during a visit to a family-owned farm in Sevojno, near Uzice, western Serbia.
"You cannot have a year's worth of reserves, because no country in the world has that," he noted.
"You can see that some countries in the region do not even have ten days' worth of reserves, and we have reserves that would last three months," Vucic also said.
Vucic: There are various support programmes for entrepreneurs
SEVOJNO - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday the government had provided various support programmes for Serbian entrepreneurs and noted that enabling people to work and build was in the country's biggest interest.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to a privately-owned joinery firm in Sevojno near Uzice, western Serbia, Vucic urged all entrepreneurs to familiarise themselves with competitions and programmes under the authority of the Ministry of Economy and noted that there were a great many support programmes.
"Having you work and build is in our biggest interest, because when you were building, it was our companies that were doing that. Those were not companies that came from England or Switzerland, but our companies, and other people - our companies - got work. That is why we are providing money," Vucic said.
Speaking about road infrastructure, Vucic said the construction of a motorway to Cacak, central Serbia, would mean much to people in western Serbia and that a section to Pozega would be even more significant for them.
