Petkovic: Srpska lista victory in Sunday's elections would guarantee Kosovo-Metohija Serbs' survival

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday a Srpska lista win in Sunday's early elections for the Kosovo-Metohija provincial assembly in Pristina was crucial for the survival of Serbs in the province.

Winning all ten seats guaranteed to the Serb community is the only way for the party to continue to fight for the interests of Serbs in the territory, Petkovic told the RTS.

"A Srpska lista victory is, among other things, a guarantee of further comprehensive support by the Serbian government for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, and further regular payments of salaries and pensions, new employment and continued infrastructure and capital investments. In fact, a Srpska lista win is a barrier to (Albin) Kurti's terror and his anti-Serb policy," Petkovic said.

He noted that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Srpska lista were "the main targets of the Pristina regime and Albin Kurti."

"Because, through is policy, President Vucic is looking after every Serb in Kosovo-Metohija and fighting for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country," Petkovic added.

"There is nothing Kurti has not done to ban Srpska lista and prevent it from participating in the elections," he also said.

Petkovic: Serbia to always stand with Kosovo-Metohija Serbs

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Thursday evening he had met with Srpska lista representatives in Raska, central Serbia, earlier in the day to discuss the significance of Sunday's early elections for the Kosovo-Metohija provincial assembly in Pristina, and noted that Serbia would always stand with Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

"I spoke in Raska with our Srpska lista representatives about the significance of Sunday's elections and the strength of the Serbian unity to preserve our staying and survival (in the province)! Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija will always have their state of Serbia by their side, and we will continue to help through numerous support projects even more strongly," Petkovic posted on X.
