Djuric: Knezevic arrest causing serious concern

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Tuesday the arrest of Milan Knezevic, one of the most prominent Serb representatives in Montenegro, was causing serious concern.

"Political differences must not be a reason to threaten freedom, rights and dignity. The will of the people and the fundamental democratic principles must be respected. In times of pressures, friends and comrades are not left alone," Djuric posted on X.

Earlier in the day, Knezevic, an MP and Democratic People's Party of Montenegro leader, was arrested by Montenegrin police in Botun, a village in the Zeta municipality, during a protest on the planned site of a waste water treatment plant.
