BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday he would have more than 60 meetings at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, which begins on Monday, and noted that the summit was an ideal opportunity for meetings with many world leaders and for resolving important issues for Serbia.

"For the first time, the US president, the Chinese president, the German chancellor and the French president will all be in attendance in Davos. Davos is such a small place, an ideal place to meet with many people, because visiting them all would take you six months. Literally, the ideal place for those short meetings in which you can discuss key things and speak with many world leaders, economic and business leaders... From (IMF Director) Kristalina Georgieva and (EBRD President Odile) Renaud-Basso, to everyone else. So, you can meet with many people and resolve many important things for our country," Vucic said on Informer TV.

He added that he expected to have more than 60 meetings and that four new bilateral meetings had been arranged on Sunday morning.

He said he had attended every WEF in Davos in the past 12 years.

"I think that I am now one of the 80 people in the world who have been invited more than ten times, and I have always been invited, and announced, as the main guest from the Balkans," Vucic noted.

Under the theme of A Spirit of Dialogue, the 56th annual WEF will be held from January 19 through 30, bringing together world leaders in politics, business, civil society and the academic community to provide answers to key global challenges through dialogue and set the priorities for the coming period.

"At a pivotal moment for global cooperation, the World Economic Forum will bring together close to 3,000 cross-sector leaders from over 130 countries. Marking record levels of governmental participation, 400 top political leaders - including close to 65 heads of state and government and six of the G7’s leaders - are expected to take part, alongside nearly 850 of the world’s top CEOs and chairpersons, and almost 100 leading unicorns and technology pioneers, " the organisers have announced in a statement.
