BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he had always believed the relations between Belgrade and Sarajevo were important and that he now believed so even more, and noted that the relations between the Serbs and Bosniaks were key for the future of the Balkans.
In an interview for Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federal TV, Vucic said the Bosniaks, just like the Serbs, had an incredible need to miss all opportunities that presented themselves and to make enemies of those who were not their enemies, and added that it was always easier to disintegrate something than to build.
"In the past 14 years, you have not been able to find any negative statements about the relations between the Serbs and Bosniaks, and everything else, by me or anyone else who is important in this country. No - but you have been trying to find some from 30 or I do not know how many years ago. You have been trying to make up fairy tales about my snipers and rifles around Sarajevo, which are notorious lies," Vucic noted.
He added that, in spite of everything, he was not shunning coming to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"If I have done something, why do not you arrest me? Do you know why you do not? Because you know that you are lying - not you, but those who have been saying such things," Vucic said.
He noted that the relations between the Serbs and Bosniaks were key for the future of the Balkans and that he had always been open to dialogue.
