Vucic, Koopman discuss Serbia's EU path, advancement of Serbia-EU cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the European Commission's Director-General of the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert-Jan Koopman in Belgrade on Friday to discuss Serbia's EU path, reform processes, advancement of Serbia-EU cooperation and a set of judicial laws.

"Our goal is to accelerate rule-of-law reforms and to enhance legislative solutions, in line with the best European standards, while looking after the interests of our citizens and the stability of the judicial system," Vucic posted on Instagram.

He noted that Serbia was doing everything in its power to accelerate preparations for opening the remaining clusters in the EU accession process.

"Grateful to Director Koopman for his personal engagement and support. I expect a continuation of constructive cooperation with European institutions, with the clear goal of Serbia's EU membership," Vucic wrote in the post.
